actually, I am just trying to open up some programs offline, and it does the samething. Okay, 24 hours later, Now there is a new update icon, I believe its critical update icon. I am going to install this update, and we'll go from there.
As for Norton Ghost, I just brought a 120gigs eide HD. Can Ghost copy everything from my c:\ including my settings into a image and paste to this new hd of mine, and then I format my C:\, install XP Professional edition, and then I put the image back to C:\. Can this work? |
Norton Ghost is NOT for Data Backup. Its to image your LIVE OS (Windows XP) with all the software and drivers installed. It basically makes a .gho file image of yr entire C:. So the next time your HDD crashes or yr OS goes corrupt, you just pop in the Ghost CD, the system boots from there and then restores yr entire OS with yr applications and drivers and settings and all. Yr data, Videos, doc and mp3's etc etc can be backed up on other HDD or DVD or whatever. But this basically makes an image of a LIVE OS, Which is incredible. Restores the entire system in like 7 minutes.
