At Countdown 2003, I was at the 21+ room listening to a DJ named Old Dirty Frank. He played something called Acid Drum and Bass I think. After his set, I eagerly asked him for a cd. When he was about to hand it to me, he looked at my eyes, laughed, gave me a smirk, and signed in the cd box "hope your ups and downs are in bed - Frank" |
haha thats fuckin awesome lol...
yeah i agree they should bring back the parties i had so much fun goin to those events.. the ones thrown by sympty werent really 'warehouse' parties though bc it was in a 'venue' the warehouse parties im talkin about were the really really underground ones that only 50-60 people attended (if you've ever seen the movie groove, thats the type of party im talkin about) where you had to go into a record store and strike up a convo with one of the guys which led to talkin about parties, he would then lead u to one of the managers, that would lead you to a flyer w/ no address on it, and maybe a cell phone number.. you'd call that number and someone would meet you somewhere and slip you directions like it was freakin drugs or somethin haha then at night you'd make your way across the railroad tracks, hop a few fences, listen closely for bass drums around you and finally reach your destination.. i've only been to two parties like that and its insane.. theres people doin graffiti on the cement walls, people dancin.. it doesnt compare to any club experience.. back in those days the promoters were anti-club...
