I can totally empathasize with all you that worked for years in retail and find yourself doing or saying things automatically without giving it any thought..
I used to work as a cashier in a pharmacy and one night this guy was buying condoms. After completing the transaction, without thinking I blurted "have a good night".. and he looked at me all strange and was like "oh, I plan to" ... oh boy was my face red
