i remember someone telling me once that a great way to 'deflect' requests was to apologize, tell the requester that you have the track but that unfortunately you didn't have it with you. That way you empithize with the person, but let them down nicely.

I thought it was a great idea – then i remembered how many times it had been said to me when i used to hovered around the decks
