Hey guys, ive been working on my supersaw forever and still cant get "that sound" you know what im talking about. Can you guys give me some helpful pointers... Im not sure if ive been sitting here for too long and my ears cant focus more, or if it is all in my head (thinking that the my supersaw is not good enough but it actually sounds good). Can someone listen to sample and let me know know if it is pretty good. I have tried everything eq, chorus, flanger, reverb, delay and tweaked it and tweaked it. Im at the point of giving up and i think this is the best i can get out of it.... The synth I am using is hardware Roland V-synth. It is version 2 so it has the same supersaw wave as the Roland jp-8000.
Right now my setup is this:
-2 osc. , both supersaw waves and are tweaked differently.
-1 cosm, I have this for my filter (LPF, -12dB/oct)
I also eq'd it :
mid (4000 +2, Q 8.0)
mid 2 (20000, -3, Q 0.5)
high (12500 -5)
total gain (+1db)
Another thing I am hearing is the high hissing sound (the pink bright sssssssss) which was too strong, and that is why i took the high 12500 down -5. Like i said i have been tweaking this super saw sound for so long, I cant even tell if the high hissing sound is ok now or if its still too loud.
On top of this , I have a bunch of effects such as chorus, flanger, delay, reverb and gain.
Someone out there please take 30 seconds and listen and lead me the right direction..
