It's funny the way this community has developed among the years in relation to the atitudes towards producers/dj's.
Firstly, very very few producers posted on here (can only remember Plastic Angel at that time). Any who did would be treated as gods, praised by everyone at every single post, etc. Professionals or amateurs, it didn't matter, all were gods if they made a piece of music.
In a second, transitory stage many TAs from the amateurs forum got signed (Haak, Endre, Robert Nickson, etc). They were still few professionals around apart from them, but this reduced the status gap between those who made music and those who listened to it.
Then shitloads of signed people got on here, some even very famous (Dave Dresden, James Zabiela, Benno de Goeij). Producers, djs, labels and radio people promote their stuff everywhere, causing the regular listener TA to get fed up of it. The professionals get some tolerance, but some total amateurs tried to jump in the bandwagon, reason why people got very suspicious overall of anyone claiming to be a producer/dj. Now when you aren't the most well known producer out there (hard trance is far from its most popular days over here), and your first post is to get people to your website which looks dodgy, people just assume you're one of those amateurs clamining to be great and throw lots of insults.
