the dust will slowly ruin the faders because of the buildup making it harder for the mixer to read the faders etc etc.. it will slowly break down the mixer.

I don't get it

it has just been covered how problematic that mixer is thought to be

why don't people invest the extra 50-100 and get a PPD01 at LEAST

Or get a freakin 707 before they are all sold. You can get one shipped for less than $300, but you'll have to hurry. Then you don't have to worry about babying your equipment because we all know gear is meant to take a beating and still work fine.

I absolutely love my DXM06 - my friends bought one as well.
It's absolutely solid for a beginner/intermediate DJ.
Digital Crossfader, so it will last forever, and it's 24-bit so it sounds just as good if not better than a Pio 600.

The effector unit is really nice as well... you'd be surprised what you can do with a tape echo and switching the line to phono and letting it echo and build up

However, once my Channel 1 upfader went. Whether it was in the up or down position you could hear it just fine. Turned out the solders inside were shoddy... had it fixed in 3 days though.

Awesome mixer.

What do you meant by that? I agreed with TSI_AWD's reply to your post - which was short and strongly worded against the DXM06.

2 question mate, what sort of music do you DJ and how long have you had those mixers for?

seeing this thread going on for a while...might as well put in my two cents...for what its worth, its not a bad mixer...i mean, you can do worse...im i guess an intermediate dj, and honestly the fx thingie was probably a key role in getting it, however now-a-days...i dont even touch that shiet. the knobs(EQs, gains, etc..) aren't very loose to where they slide easily like the pio. which i never really liked. and the faders are solid and responsive. plus the digital crap makes it sound a lot better, especially when recording a mix from my experiences. numark does have a troubled past, but it seems like they're making steps to make better quality products. hey, pioneer had to start somewhere, right?

TTX-1's higher torque than technics
far better feature and digital sound instead of analogue
better features for battle position
two tone arms
BPM counter

and they LOOK PRETTY!

They also have a higher wow and flutter than the technics
The digital sound is only if u use the spdif out, how many mixers do you know with spdif in?
And the bpm counter sucks balls

The most annoying thing is that the pitch control is digital and you can only change it in .1% steps, a real PITA for those long mixes where you have to be super accurate

I do admit they look cool and are better for battling/scratching
and the fact that you can run them at a line level and without a ground is also useful

ok dude, so how often do you use your crossfader? since it's better than an industry standard mixer (the 600 from pio) how different is it? don't the eq knobs, your channel faders matter? which in my opinion numark can't seem to build them properly...
so thumbs up for having a crossfader that's digital, but everything else is shit...

Numarks Aquisition of Alesis has put the FX on its mixers. I love my DXM-06

Only gripe i have is that its only 2 channel... I am going to buy a dxm-09 when funds are available.

(2nd hand).. so i got a replacement.. it was an easy replacement.. just remove and replace..

I'm looking at the DXM06.. seems like you can't replace the faders at all.. i mean, there is no "plate" to remove.. anybody know about replacement faders for the DXM??? ... or better still anybody know of mixers that have replaceable faders?... budget is around the same price as the DXM 06.. therefore around.. $200??

you can replace the faders.. you just hafto take the entire face off to do so...
