So much music online it is impossible to keep up. But it does make for some interesting talk figuring out what other people are enjoying. I am still having trouble classifying the netlabel music, there is so much stuff.
I like alot of the demoscene tracks on scene.org, particularly the demovibes compilation by willbe. Poemtoahorse by RP owns me
Another one I like is this buzzer who calls himself "paniq"
(http://www.paniq.org) he has a bunch of his stuff hosted on scene.org as well.
I find TokyoDawn, Hellven and Statdgruen seem to be pretty entertaining, there are fun things to be found on kahvi as well.
I need links to places that stream netmusic, I also need compilations. I find that streams and compilations help take some of the guesswork out of finding good stuff. Blogs and podcasts and stuff just add to the confusion because everyone and their mother has a blog and most of them suck, but I will trudge my way though the ghey ass blogosphere if I have to, sigh.
Netlabels as a whole tend to surround only certain styles, those being minimal techo, melodic idm, ambient, dub, something called "microsound", its alot of chin-stroker type music. There are many exceptions but for some reason this it the type of stuff that is offered the most. They have ugly titles but that doesnt really reflect the way they sound very well. I haven't found much trance music or raggae on netlabels, there is a certain flavor of progressive that seems popular though.
Anyway, I like netlabels alot, it makes life more interesting because it seems that every person involved has a different collection and will almost certainly have some good stuff that other people are completely oblivious to. My collection is still mostly trance and DnB but I am a fiend for legal downloads.
