VIA C3 Ezra-Core 800 MHz (may be rated P III @ 600 MHz)
1536 MB RAM
ATI Rage IIc 32MB
Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe
1xHDD 80GB
1xHDD 160 GB
1xHDD 300 GB
(1 20 GB RAID5 volume spanning all three HDD)
22" Fujitsu-Siemens CRT

Rocks like hell and - due to its extremely low-power components, virtually completely silenced. (HDD in silencer cages), no vents.

Get this...I'm not a gamer!
Ok we'll I've had my fair share of counterstriking and gunbound(? does it exist anymore) and doom and the whole nine, but as of now, it's strictly visual and audio stimuli. I have my main computer setup with Abelton for producing personal music, also for some art programs. My file server is going to be upgraded with a higher end audio/video cards which will be located in my entertainment unit as a media controller. It'll let me access my files from my main computer, inside/outside my LAN, and also act as an FTP server for friends and family and personal use. Along with running a DVI out to my new TV (40" Sony XBRONE LCD) and the 7.1surround sound system I have in my apartment. My production computer (main computer) will run audio out to a set of KRK SP6 on a 21" viewsonic LCD, probably run some line-in/out for music burning to my mp3 player and other various media devices (digi cam, web cam, etc). Also, my file server in the entertainment center is fully wireless capable so my keyboard and mouse sit nicely on my coffee table. Under my mounted LCD I have a 19" samsung CRT incase I want to watch TV and surf the internet. Also good for guest who come over and want to use the internet (which obviously I wont let them use my production machine (freakin spyware freebie internet surfers who don't care wat the hell they download).

So like yea, I'm pretty comp geek'd out but it adds to my entertainment so I justify it by enjoyment. It also helps that I work in the field, MIS Major here, MBA bound by 2008. It's funny how the older you get, nerds and geeks have become very attactive, especially those health promoters and educators who work out non-stop and clearly have the bodies to show for it and at the same time you find them reading research articles about nutrition and supplements. What a great life to live...but you got to work for it thats all...

GAME ON PEOPLE!

My (main) gaming PC (Alienware Aurora Extreme)

AMD FX 51 Processor (upgrading to FX 57 next year)
1 GB of PC 3200 RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra OC (upgrading to GeForce 7800)
Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Creative Labs Gigaworks S750 7.1 THX speakers
300 GB of HD Space (7,200 RPM)

Ok thats all I know for now. Don't use it for gaming much anymore because newer games are requiring better video cards and even faster processors, so both my processor and video card is almost three years old, and with the rate of technology, that is considered outdated...might just settle for an XBox 360 since most PC games eventually find there way onto that system...

My other computer (the one I hardly use) was bought so I could learn some production and to record and edit my sets on my old TTs, which are now CDJs. It's not that great for gaming...it's a Toshiba P25 Desktop Replacement (like a big laptop but not suitable for your lap). I bought it because at the time (summer of 2004), Centrino processors didn't seem efficient enough for the multimedia apps and auditing editing that I wanted to do on it...they definitely have gotten much better in the past year. A year later, it doesn't seem all that great really...I've hardly used it for it's intended purpose due to finances not being enough to afford the upgrades (more RAM anda faster HD) and the software.

Pentium 4 3.2 GHz with HT Technology
512 MB of PC 2100 Ram (Slow Ram...I know)
80 GB of HD Space (4,200 RPM..slow I know..)
17'' LCD Screen

The video card and sound card on it are crappy, so it doesn't play games well, but it is pretty efficient when it comes to burning CDs, loading and installing programs (actually sometimes faster than the Alienware one), and just processing a lot of info. I will probably get rid of it in another year or so, in order to get a truly portable laptop. By then Centrinos will be in excess of 2Ghz and will probably have at least an 800 MHz FSB, which is important if your processing lots of data in audio editing or video editing or gaming.

I know anyone reading the last post would be like "why don't you use the Alienware one for production and recording, it would be better)...well I have so much shit on this computer (a printer/scanner combo thing, an old MP3 player I never use, an iron right by a TV which is right by the area I use to study), so my CDJs are in my room. Even though they are relatively small, there is NO room for them in this computer room, so I decided to buy something that took up less space than a desktop tower but was faster than a typical notebook computer. So I got one of the fastest ones I could afford.

P4 2.93Ghz
1 Gig of RAM
Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2
Geforce NX6600GT

It's just a system my dad bought though, it isn't custom and isn't a powerhouse but it runs fairly well.
