I tend to use a lot of different sounds in my productions, so there's your answer.
So do I.
But in the end it's just how you use ("SIZE" doesnt really count anymore from 2gig upwards).
However I may upgrade to 4gb as well some day if needed.
But therefore i'll upgrade from my Athlon 64 3500+ to one of their newer dual-core thingys.

Sweet - if you decide to do that, please let me know! I read up on those things about two weeks ago and I'd really like to hear some real-world experiences before I spend any money. Supposedly they're Socket 939, which ought to be a really simple upgrade... I just don't see how the OS would be able to truly make use of the dual core, since AFAIK it will be seen as a single processor.
Not trying to discourage you, I just don't know anyone at all who has one (let alone another producer), so I'd like some input.

I'm guessing 1GB might be quite ok for music production, I myself have recently switched to 2GB.
Those with 4GB are probably some diehard gamers? I wonder what processor on the planet can handle 4GB's through an 800MHz bus all of the time
