Uh. I'm not seeing your analogy at all.

Plus, no prices have been announced yet. You can't really make a comment regarding that YET.

Well, I don't feel like posting pics of all the ipod doodads but you have your -

IPOD

IPOD CASE
IPOD CHARGER BASE
IPOD RADIO TUNER/PODCASTING (not to be confused with the IPOD RADIO TRANSMITTER)
IPOD SPEAKERS x10
IPOD CAMERA
IPOD MIXER
IPOD EXTERNAL BATTERY
IPOD ITUNES
IPOD SOUND ISOLATING HEADPHONES
IPOD SOCKS
IPOD CAMERA CONNECTOR
IPOD MONSTER ITV LINK CABLE
IPOD WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL (for the IPOD CAMERA)
IPOD USP POWER ADAPTER
IPOD SKINS/TATTOOS
IPOD USB WIRE (sold seperately)
IPOD MINI
IPOD MINI CASE
IPOD MINI CHARGER
IPOD MINI RADIO TUNER
IPOD MINI SPEAKERS
IPOD MINI ARMBAND
IPOD MINI SKINS
IPOD SHUFFLE
IPOD SHUFFLE CASE
IPOD SHUFFLE ARMBAND
IPOD SHUFFLE IN EAR HEADPHONES
IPOD SHUFFLE CAR ADAPTER
IPOD SHUFFLE EXTERNAL BATTERY PACK
IPOD SHUFFLE MONSTER ISPLITTER CABLE
IPOD SHUFFLE RADIO TRANSMITTER
IPOD NANO
IPOD NANO LANYARD HEADPHONES
IPOD NANO IN-EAR HEADPHONES
IPOD NANO ARMBAND
IPOD NANO TUBES (almost the same as skins)
IPOD NANO DOCK
IPOD NANO USB POWER ADAPTER
IPOD NANO USB CABLE

So yeah... I really don't want Nintendo to try and pull an Ipod. I'm not trying to hate or anything. I'm actually planning on buying a Nano in the next few months... as a gift for someone else. I'd never buy one for myself because as much as it pains me to resist the ipod's beauty, simplistic design, and excellent user interface, I don't feel like getting sucked into THAT^^^. It seems nintendo has already got the Ipod-esque minimalistic design down, which makes it IMO the best looking next gen system to be released. I don't want to see them release a controller that barely functions as a controller without add ons that one would have to go out and buy. As Nintendo still has a very large younger aged audience, it's the parents who could suffer in the end as their children fall victim to an apparently very skilled group of industrial psychologists.

I agree with you 100% ^^^

...but none of those accessories are really necessary to use the ipod, so I don't expect Nintendo to release hundreds of accessories, each specifically designed to do something else for a different game, and be a requirement.

I understand what you're trying to say (and it's a good point) but my mindframe when I replied beforehand was basically this:

absolutely. the ipod works perfectly fine by itself + itunes. and i'm sure.... eeh, or at least i hope that the nintendo controller will work just fine by itself. yet, somehow people still get drawn in :-\.

More importantly, I wonder what kind of games they'll be able to produce that support games that DON'T use things like analog control. It almost seems like a step backwards, or else a giant leap foward... so far ahead that no one is able to really grasp the purpose of reverting back to something that seems almost as simplistic as the original nintendo controller. *shrugs*

**cough**Sony'slatestconsole**cough**

They're taking a leap with graphics but are also basing their entire future on these graphics. Pretty simplistic. Seems like Sony and Nintendo are more alike than we originally made them out to be.
