lol, you definitely can't bring a mixer along with you to a club in NYC. Pampering yourself with the best mixer available is definitely nice....i did so myself. But it sucks walking into a bar / lounge / club all comfortable playing with a Xone and then having to adjust to something shitty in a live setting.

Its all part of the 'rights of passage' in the life of a DJ.

It all depends on what youre spinning, some genre's suite rotary better... others suite a linear better.

Since I spin house, rotary is a better feel for me, you get much smoother transitions.

Yeah, this is probably gonna sound naive, because i've never used a rotory mixer before....

but like, can't u just get a mixer with a long crossfader, like a Xone, and just move the crossfader more slowly/more smoothly....

hell, just by using the levels, u can get any curve of mixing in/out that you want.

I feel like it's a mentality that ppl have that because it's more expensive, it must be better. But then again, i don't know what i'm talking about, so i'll just STFU.

Well sure you CAN do that, but it's just not as easy to do with linear faders. And you can accidently whack one and screw up your mix.

It's like saying "Well with a rotary you can cut by just turning the knob REALLY fast...". Sure you COULD, but it's not pleasurable.

Youll probably end up fucking up the knobs after a while if you do that.
