All joking aside, the number of blades is really not an important point other than it allows gillette and shick to charge more for a package of refills.
The biggest advance was when Gillette developed the Sensor with it's spring loaded blades. That advance was a huge one. Everything since has just been a add more blades/aloe strips, rubber flaps, or now battery power to sell a repackaged version. If sensor refills were not still just as expensive as they were 5 years ago, I would still be using mine. I now use the "Sensor3" disposables. A pack of 8 of them is cheaper than buying the same number of refills for my old fashioned sensor, and I get an "extra" blade.
As long as you are shaving with a clean and sharp blade, even a cheap 20cent disposible bic will get the job done.
I have not bothered with a Mach3, I won't bother with one of these.
I wonder if the patent lawsuit Gillette filed against Shick has been thrown out yet....if Gillette were to win, Shick would have to stop selling the Quattro and pay Gillette all the revenue that had been generated from the sales of the Quattro since launch as a penalty.

That eliminates the bleeding face factor. And it's very smooth. Why anyone uses razors is beyond me.
My Philishave Coolskin IS a wetshaver, you can use it in the shower, it has a shaving gel dispenser thingy just above the blades, so you squeeze some out as you go along, shaves hella close, in half the time, and NO cuts.
I used to use the razor thing all the time, but it was such a hassle
