wut im actually lookin for from the mixer is EQ, effects, and all that for just regular mixing edm.

any more inputs on the EQ? thats wut i really am lookin for. and also effects. is there a mixer which has better EQ and effects overall around the same price as the djm600?

im pretty broke now, so im saving up my money for xmas to get me one. its pretty expensive and im planning to get a used one. plz give me opinions of any other mixers that fit me better, and the cheaper the better (in my case

thanx.

The Denon DN-X1500 has (in my opinion) got better EQ and effects than the DJM600 - most of the effects are the same (they blatantly ripped them off!), but a few are improved and they've added a couple.

The Denon has better sound quality as well, the sampler is separate from the FX unit which is useful, some things about the sampler are better, others not so. And it's about the same price (depending on where you get it from)

But it has it's downsides... like a slight lag on the channel faders (crossfader is fine, so you can use that for cutting etc) which still hasn't been fixed with updates (you can give it updates via USB but so far they've only brought out one) and the whole mixer feels slightly more fragile... it's still well built and will last, just doesn't really feel like you could throw it down the stairs like the Pioneer does (not that I recommend you do this... was just an example!)

I sold mine and now I have the xone 62 and the sound quality is in a different class.
I can actually turn up the volume without getting all the hiss I got from the DJM.
Pioneer makes crappy mixers. Their CD decks are good though.
I would buy a allen & heath 62 or an allen & heath 32 over the djm.
I am glad I got rid of it and if I knew more about mixers I (how to read the specs ect.)
I wouldn't have got one in the first place.

To be fair there are some cool things about the djm. One cool feature that I miss is the sampler. You can sample stuff and loop it over certain sections of the song .
Or you can re-edit on the fly.
Another plus is the way its layed out. It is very "dj friendly".
But on the other hand the components used to build this mixer are cheap
and the eq's are a joke.
The quality of the effects degrades within months .

Dont worry about beat counters and shit like that.
Using beat counters doesn't teach you djing.
Plus you cant rely on them to mix because 2 songs can be playing at
129 bpm, but you will still be off because one will be playing at 128,9945
and the other at 129,0425.
Thats why every time you log on to Pioneer pro dj forum you always see some idiot posting ''My cdjs are not holding their tempo''
"I have both tracks at 132 start them on beat but they drift"
''How can I get them fixed?''

Anyways unless you are in the ''tablism'' thing I would highly recomend allen & heath.

Why doesn't anybody look at 2 channel mixers? Most people don't have more than 2 decks on at a time...you can easy switch from cdj to vinyl with that little line/phono switch on the top of most mixers...

Its a great mixer and over the last 3 years, I'd say 90% of the gigs I've played, this was the mixer they used. So get comfortable on this thing, and you'll be in a good position.

Even if you don't normally have 2 tunes playing at once, it's always useful to know that you've got that option to expand to as you start to experiment.

With 4 channels you can also cue up another tune, even if you're not gonna play it yet - just get it ready a bit in advance.

Last year I got one for $689 (with the $200 rebate). I have since upgraded to a Xone:92. The only thing I miss about the DJM is the sampler, but I'm planning on getting a PVDJ Grabber soon. As far as effects, I use an EFX-500, which I like much better than the ones on the DJM. You should seriously consider the Ecler Nuo5 and the Xone:62. They are roughly the same price as the DJM, and of much higher quality. With the Nuo, you'll lose the sampler (once again, I recommend the PVDJ Grabber). With the Xone:62, you'll lose the sampler and effects, but you gain filters, which sound better, and are more fun, than the effects on the DJM.
