Most of my promos get sent to me on CD now, so have little choice in the matter. Not through choice I might add but that is the way it's going for better or worse.

Cheers
Nem

most use cd these days just because its so much easier to carry a book/case of cd's around compared to a case of vinyl...its also cheaper to get songs.

yea also cheaper for people to download all those 320kps mp3's. imo, cds are making producers loose money.

Producers still get their share from the 320 sells. The reason why mp3 is a lot cheaper than manufactured releases(cd + 12") is because labels dont have to pay pressing plants, distribution services, dont have to worry about logistics and so on..

its also allot easier for people to share 320 version's from all these cds and mp3's than it use to be. check out DC++ for example, all i see is 320 versions when i use to see 192, free music?

yeah i hear ya on that....the truth of the matter is that mostly bedroom dj's used to buy vinyls .....and add to that alot of them are young and don't have money to throw around on vinyl....so why go and spend the little money they have on vinyls that that might not play after another week....get the mp3 and use it...if they really like i guarrantee most will eventually buy a vinyl.....

I bet alot of u out there were just like me before this whole mp3 thing...u go to the shop ...come back with a bunch of vinyl and there will always be some track that you put on when you get home on say " why did I buy this!"

with mp3's there is no more of that for me...i spend my hard earned money on solid tracks....perhaps alot of these labels should focus more on quality then quantity.....phat tracks will sell out vinyl

'00' flemming wants to stop doing vinyls cause he just breaks out even on them..... even isn't good enough!!!! these guys just wanna line there pockets....the whole love of djing is dying and its a shame...it has gotten to large and to much money involved ....

its pathetic

WIth the way technology is moving, cd's may even be absolute!

I'm slowy switching to software mixing and see how that is going to work for me.

I prefer vinyl but me got no money!

I'm just noticing top dj's using cd's or other electronic format to spin their music now. IE Tiesto in concert was all cd & PVD is using that Final Scratch stuff.

They are not using VINYL anymore for the simple reason that music is sent to them
for promotional reasons, in a digital format.

But nobody (exept stupid bedroom djs) will give a shit in a club
