'Better off alone' and 'heaven' are great catchy tracks if you can see past the cheese, and understand that they don't reflect their genre. The problem is that only the 'cheesy' tracks make it to mainstream and to people's ears, and they end up thinking the whole genre is like this. I wouldn't blame Alice Deejay or even DJ Sammy for "ruining the scene". They're producers, and they'll produce whatever kind of music they want. If you want to put a blame for the bad image EDM has gotten, put it on radios and DJs who spin nothing but top 40s, and overplay those same cheesy tracks over and over again. After all, cheese isn't nessessarily a bad thing - it works to an effect - but the problem arises when people hear nothing but the cheese, and end up thinking that's all there is.

As for sandstorm, I think it's one of the most brilliant tracks in the history of EDM, but it's been overplayed to death. I still love to listen to it, but I understand that it shouldn't really be put in a set adressed to a more knowledgable or experienced audience - only those top40 people who think everything with a 4/4 beat is called techno. They won't care.

Now I'm really surprised no one's mentioned Crazy Frog yet. Like I said, cheese isn't nessessarily a bad thing, but jeeze, there are limits! This song is just purely idiotic - and every copy in existance should be burned and the remains sprinkled with holy water. And don't even get me started about the video! Ugh.

DJ Sammy - Why....

ok i dont think i have ever heard a more disasterous song in my life. i was gonna cry when i heard that song+video.

the woman looks like a vulture and her voice sounds like a jack in the box and the song sounds like i shoved it up my asshole then shit it out through my mouth and played around with it then dried it up and served it to the kids for halloween as tootsie rolls.ok.

Col, Ian, deflate your egos please. Not everybody got into trance in 99, so while I realize the contempt you may have for an overplayed post-99 song, you just simply aren't looking at the big picture. To say As the Rush Comes is detremental to EDM is absolutely absurd. This track pulled many people into the genre and its production did not comprimise the integrity of EDM. Now, you may not enjoy how it was overplayed, but that is not the fault of the track, rather lazy DJs who simply ride the coattails of the latest hit. In short, get over yourselves and perhaps you will see what is truly detremental to EDM, and not just what you have come to loathe for your own personal reasons.

+1

I'm not a huge fan of trance tracks with vocals either but there are a few exceptions. First of all, as the rush comes was one of the best fucking tunes I've ever heard because of the way it was composed and it all made sense. Some of you TA members are so Egotistical, take it easy, that track was considered by most TA members tune of the year when it came out and this one definately deserved it without a fu*king doubt. when I first heard this on a popular radio station that only played pop and hip hop and r&b garbage yelled in my car and said

FU*K YE , FINALLY
If anything trance was in need of a great vocal energetic trance release that stood out above the rest with all the cheesy shit out there from lasgo, milk inc. and the rest of that trash. I still can't believe someone would actually post something negative about such a classic.

Leave Lasgo and Milk Inc. alone. How many tracks have you heard from them ? 2 or 3 ? Do you have their albums ? Do you even make an attempt to expand your clearly ignorant view of Belgian dance ? NO, it doesn`t seem like it. So fuck off or stop being ignorant and just being one of those people that automatically blames Lasgo, Milk Inc., Sylver, etc. for all the problems in trance.

And I think the track that ruined trance was:

Andain - Beautiful Things

Children - inadvertantly founded a decade of pop-driven drivel

Out Of The Blue - established the Dutch epic trance model

Burned With Desire - merged Dutch to vocal eurotrance, "the final betrayal"; pure antithesis of trance as a concept

Beautiful Things and As The Rush Comes were practically yesterday; they didn't do any damage, at least not anything that wasn't already done.

Exactly. Anyone who says Sandstorm is posing.

Where do I start on this one.
Let me start off by saying that I was in a 13 hour road trip and the driver just happened to be a annoying cousin of mines who loves shit like lasgo and was playing nothing but that during the first 7 hours of our trip until I took over the driver's seat, it was torture to my ears. I'm posting a link to lasgo's most popular tracks below...read and think about how long it must've took her to write these corny fu*king lyrics that an average 6th grader could probably compose. So don't go telling me to fu*k off , because most of the TA members agree that lasgo, Milk inc, and those other euro-pop artist have no skills in lyrical composition (in plain english, they can't write for sh*t). Let me guess, it's the beats that get to you, so you mentally block out the shitty lyrics that are actually coming out they're mouth.

Link - http://www.go2lyrics.com/L/Lasgo

Lasgo's lyrics:
Don't you realize what you do to me
You can't live your life like a fantasy
Oh no no no no no
You have hurt my soul deep inside of me
I still lose control when you smile at me
Oh no no no no no

You can make me fly
You can make me cry
We can't work it out
Nothing to argue about
I don't belong to you x2

And so much similiar garbage like that. I'm not going to even bother posting links to other artists lyrics because I've punished the TA members enough by asking them to read some of her lyrics.
. She could only wish she could sing like andain. None of Lasgo's songs come even close to Andain's - summer calling track.

I'm not here to piss you off and if your a fan of Lasgo ,milk inc. and dance artists & groups like that so be it. But please don't tell me to fu*k off because I'm pointing out the obvious facts. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but I'm just relaying what my thought were when I had the misfortune of hearing lasgo singing lyrics that belong in a Dr. Seuss book. I guess some people are so easily ammused by anything. If you like to hear some good EDM releases with good lyrics let me make a couple of suggestions and you'll see what it should sound like. Go check out releases/remixes with

Sarah McLachlan - silence/sweet surrender
Evanescence - hello (Trifactor vs Gabriel & Dresden remix)
Delerium feat Leigh nash - Innocente
Andain - summer calling (airwave remix)
Motorcycle - as the rush comes (Armin's universal remix/sweeping strings remix)
Soldout vs Nova - maybe tomorrow

Just a few suggestions that I'm throwing out there...Listen to those and then compare the written lyrics & melodies to your precious lasgo and milk inc. I rest my case.

Did this one get popular enough to have any impact? I like it though.
