yeah, its like that. but you get a handle on it eventually the fact that some characters are referred to by different names certainly doesnt help!

except in a feast for crowsm i liked it but i was a bit disappointed
the previous books all build towards an event, or at least finish with a bang, a feast for crows just stopped, i thought he wasted a bit too much time on certain things t hat werent really a big deal
cant wait for the next part

some of my friends have said the same thing regarding a feast for crows, personally i think it is different but still just as entertaining with all the plot hooks, backstabbing and politics. how he intends to finish this series of books within three novels is beyond me. it is going to turn into another wheel of time series in terms of length.

you will get used to it phil, just keep reading and all the characters will become clearer later on. you can also refer to the back of the book to check out all the different noble houses, to get more idea of who is connected to who.

i still loved the book, just compared to the other books it was a bit slower.

don't get me started on wheel of time, started off as one of the best series id read, imo he really dropped the ball on 9/10, 11 was good tho

yeah it was definitely different, splitting the characters was interesting and he also did a whole lot of building toward events that will be unleashed in books to come. its all smouldering away nicely. i cannot wait until 'a dance with dragons' comes out there are so many unanswered questions

Oh wow. I just finished feast for crows. This series has seriously been a pivotal part of my reality for the last few months, it's so weird for it to suddenly end.

I agree about the 4th book. It is a lot slower and there is less of a build up, but that being said I really liked the fact that Martin did that. It slowed the pace right down from the 3rd book(s) and started opening you up to new characters/places such as Dorne and Arya in that place... it's name alludes me.

Fantastic series.

ok rant all you want teapot, i just finished 'a feast for crows'. hmm. don't think i liked it as much as the previous ones...but from reading the notes at the end i can understand. far out there is just so much happening!!! its annoying how things build up in a way for certain characters and then just stop! but i guess thats how you write a good story, keep us wanting more...

i arya

i think im falling in love hahaha

cersei is such an idiot she pisses me off

i like how jamie is sort of growing up or maturing a bit, he and tyrion both seem to be trying to put their individual failures or past deeds/bad looks haha behind them and make the best of what they've got. tyrion sometimes has dubious methods and reasons but he seems to genuinely try and be a good person sometimes.

stannis is a wanker

there needs to be more battles, as much as i like reading about how the different characters are going about there business and how things are shaping up for the future of the series i think there should have been a bit more fighting i thought the last book was pretty slow and boring in this regard...

im hanging for a massive fuck off battle with ******* at some point!! if there isn't ill be pissed
