My one suggestion would be to put (only) the artist names in bold, and most importantly, not to set a font style; just leave it all to the user browser's default (which is probably closer to what the reader is used to ).

But i do agree that some less important info should be removed.

I've always liked junglescene's calendar. It's nice because it's in calendar format, which everyone is used to reading, and it has minimal info on the main page. You can click on any of the links you like to get more info about the events:

I think it's far easier to read and find stuff than a huge list of stuff.

i just put the year because it's the science geek in me to write a complete date.

also, the format of the "2006-03-11 - CA - Los Angeles - Spundae @ Circus" i had to do that in order to keep all the events, in the correct cities, states, and days. hope you don't mind.
