Since when does FL not support Multiple output VSTS? You need to learn how to use it. Think: Midi-out... Ports... And I know many people using the Audiophile without issue in FL.

And I can promise you you'll find it 'inefficient' to work in ANY UI that is unfamiliar to you. I just switched to Cubase from FL. So I know.

Yes. What you need to do is use the 'midi out' channels configured to the port your multi instrument is on and change the channel according to what you've assigned on battery or whatever the instrument. I think there's some more info on the help. You just add a midi out channel (from the channels list) for each of your instruments then they'll each have their own piano roll and I think the way it works for the mixer is they are consecutively assigned to the higher FX channels after the channel you've assigned for the VST. Read up in the help.

Peace

If it's for multi-outs like Orchestral, you wouldn't want that. But why are you using Battery in FL? Just use the FPC - it allows for what you want to do.

my honest opinion is fruity loops is handed to you on a plate. i used it for 3 months before moving to cubase and reason. it never helped me develop as a producer. when i went to cubase the real sounds were playing.

Word. Get some nice samples into FPC, and it'll do you wonders.

Funny. I developed plenty as a producer while using Floops. Found a couple VSTs I liked and I was off. I dunno, maybe you're just not as dedicated to figuring out the ins and outs of Floops as I was. *shrug*

In FL's defense, I'd like to point out that most producers that use it do not have a great system. Most dont have studio monitors, most dont have top of the line soundcards and hell, most of them dont even use very good VST plugins. FL Studio is certainly capable, but the people that use it often dont know how to bring out its true quality. So I guess all of you people slamming the program should ask yourselves these things:
1. Have I used the most updated version of FL?
2. When I did try/use FL, did I have the great VST plugins?
3. Was I useing a good setup with studio monitors and a decent soundcard?
4. Do I know the program in and out like I do with Cubase/Reason/Logic/whatever?

If you answer no to any of these questions, I dont really think you have any right to slam the program. So shut your arrogant faces.

In defense of FL Studio,
-Adam

That's kind of what I've been meaning to say. The reason alot of noob sounding tracks come out of FL is because alot of noobs start out using it. Anyone heard the demo track for FL6? It's all internal plugs and you can tell but it's well done. Just imagine that track on some good VST's. You can do many things with FL. And much faster than some other apps if you know the program well. For me, I think I'm going back to FL after a week with Cubase. There are things I certainly like about cubase. But I find it takes me 4 times as long to get an idea out of my head and into the sequencer. That makes it hard for me. Cause I don't like to lose ideas. Perhaps if I used Cubase a bit longer, I'd get faster. But I know the basics now enough to lay down some VST's, effects and midi's. And once I've got something, I'm usually pretty good at it. It's just the seperation of everything - it makes for a lot more clicking for me.

I love FL's pattern-based method because I can audition sounds and sections of songs together very quickly. And nothing is better for drums.

The built-in sampler is simple, easy to use and takes very little CPU. It was one of the things I missed the most while using Cubase. The browser window was another. Automation clips were yet another.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you use. What matters is if you are productive in your environment.

I give Cubase credit where credit is due. It is a great sequencer and I learned some things while using it that I may not have learned for a while when using FL (try using a different sequencer for like a week. You may be inspired to try new things) and I'm ready to go back to FL (version 6 now! Yay!) and try my new skills.

Peace to all
-Heather

Darksword is working on a project called Allfruit which is going to be a track made with FL and its built in stuff, which I eagerly await. Lots of "names" use fruity, theres a thread on here somewhere which lists some of those producers.

It is a powerful program and I love it, but I suppose it is each to their own really.

ALLFRUIT vol2

Hey. I know there have been plenty of you really interested in hearing ALLFRUIT v2. I enjoy reading all the stuff around here of people now backing FLS with pride . I think its starting to work . I havent worked on ALLFRUIT vol2 for a while but dont worry, it will definitely get finished. I tend to take a month long break from songs if I get into a rut. I beefed it up a little more last night however and I thought I'd let you hear a sample. I've renamed it so I can get it into a label :P.

DarkSword - Broken Glass

Cheers,
Zac
