It's all a question of what you like!! When i built my studio, i choose gear that is perfect to me. So my priority was the sound, everything is build for the final results. There's people prefering option, or all possibility that you can do whit the gear. Question of taste!! My opinion is the better way to start djing is by buying turnatables and mixer that give you the basics needs. So a Vestax, pioneer, allen & heath are perfect for begineers. Easy to use, you can find a model not too expensive. For cd player, you should buy something basic, a dual cd player, because in a regular club that's what you will find. Or, you can try the pioneer cdj 200, will be the better choice. Headphone, stanton is ok, sony and pioneer are perfect!! But honestly, djing is a question of feeling, so go to Moog or D-mention and try equipements, fallow your feelings. After practicing the feeling become better, and after that you can upgrade your gear!!

You've got Dimention Dj, it's the Solotech departement for deejaying ...
http://www.dmention-dj.com/
On their website there is the adress.

You have Kostar that looks a little cheap in looks for a store, but meaby you'll have nice prices for equipement.

You can go to a vinyl store and ask if anyone is selling their equipement, and leave your phone if someone sells something.

There a website made from a montrealer, they sell mostly vinyls, but you can buy equipement and arange a pick up too http://www.djmr.com/

Heum what else ... good luck ?

^_^

I think the Mdr700 has new model which is more stable and breaks less easily. I sa it in HTFR booklet that gets mailed to me every month.

A simple mixer is all you need. I do, however, strongly recommend the cdj800's. Standard issue in almost every club.

We just got some stolen from our Dj Booth at school !
MARCUS ! u sure i didn't take them ?

Wow, thanks a lot guys for all your responses; it really helped me out

I decided I'm gonna buy my friend's Numark mixer and turntables to start out...it'll be $$$ well spent and it's the perfect stuff for a beginner.

I spun a bit yesterday with him for a good 2 hrs I was fixated on beat matching and discovering the mixer, basically learning to feel the music at a different level, to really know it, if u all know what I mean.

And for Nick and Max, you guys are for sure in my booth VIP style lol...

do u have a musical background???
before doing anything, u should really try to mix a couple of times with someone who can show u tips
cause maybe ull hate it, who knows!!!

i can say its really frustrating when u start, moreover if u dont know what is a measure or 4/4 beat:P

anyway, good luck

I do have a musical background: I sang for years and I played piano from 5yrs old til about 16 yrs old...I noticed how frustrating spinning can be for real! But I dunno...I found it more of a sweet challenge

Well, I fell in love with house music by being introduced to Chicago House but my tastes have expanded a lot since then (May 2005). I guess the style that would best describe what I wanna spin is Progressive Chicago House: combining funky, disco, melodic sounds with heavy, dark, pumping basslines...OOOOOOHHHHHH goosebumps
