It sure is. This is something everybody should know - never buy a first model year car unless it's a Honda. Goddamn Honda gets almost everything perfect. Except their slushboxes (see: TL, CL)

Some manufacturers do cover that under the 'scheduled maintainance' program, unless the parts are modified. When I was in the US, BMW used to replace the wiper blades too when they wore out. But that was back in 99, so they may have changed it now.

You either suck shit at driving OR they didnt check it(which im betting is what happend) and the previous owner fucked it up good.

although you probably shouldve felt it. did you drive more then one car? if so you shouldve felt it not grabbing like the others.

my stock clutch lasted 100k and was perfectly fine when I took it out for a performance clutch. GO HONDA.

as for bmw and german engineering..FUCK THAT. dont fucking buy a BMTROUBLEU unless you got the super extended warranty covering everything. the new ones are HORRID and cost and arm and a leg to fix.

1500(with labour?) is ok for a clutch install. take this oppurtunity and possibly buy an aftermarket clutch. (RESEARCH IT on the nissan boards). itll be cheaper (most likely) , can last just as long or longer and will support more torque.

that said i wouldnt have bought a 350

s2k FTW!

Id try and push them to replace it(and say they didnt inspect it). if not take your business to another dealer. (ie: dont get the work done at the place that"inspected " it. )

thats like saying your clutch packs in your rear diff on a limited slip diff aren't covered under warranty. or the clutch packs in automatic transmissions.

btw, warranty is against *defect*...not wear.

the problem with a wear item that carries some sort of defect warranty is that the onus generally falls upon the owner to demonstrate that it was a defect, not wear (tranny, brakes, tires, etc).

unless there is a published service bulletin or recall on D!abolic's part, Nissan will simply state that it's not defective and not covered. How will he prove otherwise?
