I agree mostly with what digi has said...however you have a right to fight the ticket. Its not always a slam dunk case that you were infact speeding or doing whatever else. Even if you are the only guy on the road and you get "caught" for going 30 over. Fight it. You have the right to. Radar guns/lasers arent exactly fail safe pieces of equipment . You can go ahead and pay the fine but if someone chooses to go to court and gets out of the ticket dont be bitter cause you decided to own up to it like a sucker. If someone manages to get out of the ticket there had to be a reason as to why they could get out of it. (besides the officer not showing up). Why should you pay if the law enforcer couldnt convict you with 100% certainty?

how about we accept the fact that we got caught speeding, and then we fight the ticket? take responsibility, but try and get away with not paying for it thru your nose...

exactly... there is absolutely no reason (other than that ego-trip or whatever you wanna call it) to pay for the ticket and have to deal with bullsh1t with your insurance on top of that as well...

I don't think any of us were saying that people shouldn't fight their tickets - we all have a right to due process and should exercise it.

This douche really had it coming though. He seriously needs to learn how to fucking drive, instead of buying progressively more expensive cars to wreck.

With a ticket for 40 over, he's not likely to get any sympathy from the courts. I wouldn't even bother hiring Pointts or a traffic attorney - the only possible chance for success here is if the cop doesn't show up to court.
