Yes, having fun is the aim. Everyone should be allowed to have fun. In whatever fucking way they choose.

If you can be told how to enjoy yourself, how to have your fun, in a neat, clean little package, for the sake of safe and compliant leisure conformity, then it comes to pass that you can be told what to say and how to think. True ontological anarchy isn't at odds with the product itself (as some in this thread erronously brought up), but rather who controls it, and who tells you what you can or can not do with it.

We go to have fun. Having fun entails maximising personal pleasure, using whatever means for whatever ends. Because nothing is true; everything is permitted. When you have your fun--fun that entitles you to pay for it, fun that is only in limited locations, fun that is deliberately bottlenecked and sold to you piecemeal, fun that you are only permitted to enjoy under certain conditions, fun that can not be had without authoritative approval....

Is it really your fun?

More fun than you ever have

In much the same way a dog enjoys the few crumbs that fall off the buffet table or an infant's delight in the game of peek-a-boo, I concur.

Yeah who cares.

I don't think it matters why you're at the party. Wether you're a first timer or a 10 year rave veteran I don't think we should continue with this crap of "It's not like it use to be".
This topic is never gonna end and it occurs everywhere down here in Oz included.
No offence but it is basically just people bitchin about something they think they own.

ffs, alot of the people in this thread are too young to be nostalgic about this and aren't your typical "not like it used to be" bunch.

assumptions are being made that are not appropriate.

just read the friggin book:
http://www.hermetic.com/bey/taz_cont.html

That thing talks about the desire some of the kids here are talking about. It explains the source of fun we are persuing and just how great that experience can be. It is such a crazy book, probabaly futile to try and explain it to sane people.

I dont see anything wrong with Trance being commercialized.

Money is the biggest motivator.

I feel that the perception about Trance in people's mind is changing. Its no more solely associated to some cult rave party in dark remote places. Instead it is being more accepted as a party music, which I feel is a good thing.

And these old people who used to go to raves feel out of place in this new trance events at posh clubs and discs.

They say they had better enjoyment in dark isolated Rave events, but today people like it in posh clubs with laser lights and smokes and faom and water parties and chicks.

As for the drugs, you still get it in parking lot. lol
