nope, that particular mixer is fine... maybe its just the combination of that mixer with those headphones which sucks... i will try it again sometime though..

Okay, than it might be OTHER stuff along the line the sound goes.

Here's what I think...

you should take your mixer, and hook it up to HIS setup. if it sounds bad with your mixer, than it is something OTHER than his mixer that is in his setup that is making the problem.

If he takes his mixer and hooks it up to YOUR setup, and it sounds bad on his mixer on your setup, than it is SOMEHOW in his mixer, be it that particular mixer (ie, the headphone jack or something in it is broken, or that particular mixer just kinda sucks that way.) If you get someone ELSE with that mixer to hook HIS mixer into YOUR setup, you can identify whether it is that mixer in GENERAL, or his particular one.

I thought we were comparing headphones, not mixers. Anyway, i also have the 700's, and i use them with my Dateq mixer. I don't have any problems with my 700 at all, and i use them for MIXING, not for LISTENING. So even if there is exagerated midbass, if I listen to 2 channels i hear EXACTLY when the beats match. And if i want to listen to music, i'll switch on my amp en relax on my bed.

exactly like he said, the V700's have no problem with anything, they can match any mixer, and CD player, and TT, and and head.
and because they're in the category "DJ headphones", they're used for mixing and beatmatching and that's why they have more bass.... so the DJ can hear better if the beats are matched.....

now, the V6's are actually in the category "studio monitor headphones". that's why they have more in the mid and high range.... and I bet they're sound quality is superb.....

anywayz, like I said, my V700's do the job great. but if I was an artist, producer, or soundman, I bet I'll get me a pair of V6's....

V700's do the job great... but the V6's do the job great too (they *ARE* meant as DJ headphones!!) and the V6's are soooo much cheaper, and sooooo much more versatile and durable and comfy...

Hehe... I listened to my V6's again... CRAPOLA! They just showed me how even the best of sources that I have used SUCK!

Actually, ShadySlim is high and he needs a dummy slap. They are only "crap" when compared to, in sound quality only, to uber-high-end, not-in-a-million-years-would-you-use-these-for-djing, $200+ Audiophile headphones.. you know, the Sony MDR-CD3000's ($400), Grado RS-1's ($700), Sennheiser HD600 ($300)... you know, the big boys...

Yeah, Gluegun, the V6 and the 7506 show the TRUE mediocrity of mass-market audio devices (and low-end DJ equipment), while the V700DJ masks such crappiness - and at the same time the V700DJ makes even the BEST-sounding sources sound mediocre.
