The home my parents bought (had built) in 1994 back then was only $113,000 in Orlando...the builders built the exact same model home in SoCal at the time for almost $1 million.
Going by that site, it's now worth $277,000....wonder how much it would be worth in LA if built now. :-p
Housing in the Orlando is stupid cheap compared to out here.

I guess it gives a good general indicator of price. I'm not sure about specifics though.
It seems that the houses down the street which have smaller sq/ft and are in worse shape have higher values than our place in HB lol

I KNOW!!!! I laugh when I see these like beachfront shacks, with rotting roofs, and nasty paint peeling everywhere etc... gross...
I don't think that thing is very accurate anyway... cause the prices of buying are always way above that. Our next door neighbors house sold for at least 100k above the price they have listed.
I want to buy a house in SoCo so bad though... I can't picture me living anywhere else permanantly to be honest.
Southern California, so much love.

Well it wont last too much longer here, lots of people are moving from CA to AZ including tons of investers and its pushing prices high, i just live about forty minutes from phoenix so its still cheap for now. It feels very "resort" like in AZ its just disgusting hot in the summer.
And about prices going down in CA.... i don't see it happening for a long time. there needs to be some sort of harsh employment impact.. even if the feds keep increasing the rates.. i still don't see it happening. Think back two years ago people in CA were cashing out and hoping to buy back in at a much cheaper price but guess what? the homes they sold in 03 probably went up a couple hundred grand more. Of course it wont be as crazy as it has been for the last five years, and yes there are some spots already in the neg, but all this worry about people being upside down on there houses.. its just a little axtreme IMO. <

I think lompoc is still kinda cheap but santa maria has gone up the last few years. Still not nearly as bad as sb but its no longer a cheap place to live.
