Oh I see, I misread your post. Im pretty happy with it....and yes there is alot to figuire out. It may be a while until I find the functions I like, and not abuse/overuse them. I found myself goofing off with it so much I kept missing my cues for the next track

It would be cool to find one or two of the other types and chain them together.

Yes, you can. On the side of each unit is a 9pin plug. One side male and the other female, so you can just "plug" them in side by side. That way you dont have as many cords running. It doesnt look like much but is but its a nice find, especially if your mixer doesnt already have an FX unit built in. It quenches the thirst for one of those pricey mixer.....until you can afford one

Alesis Philtre!JJ

Just received my Philtre unit from Novamusik! Excellent little box!
Only annoyances:

When doing LPF, normal is with the knob all the way to the right, and with HPF, normal is all the way to the left. This makes sense but it makes it hard when you're switching from HPF to LPF quickly!

Second problem -- My button for BYPASS doesn't seem to be centered properly. I have to press the top left side for it to go down naturally, otherwise the button might not activate properly? Is this a manufacturing defect that is just in my unit or do you guys have the same problem? thans

That's what the bypass switch is for.

Not at the least. I think you either have the Philtre on an uneven
surface or your not accustomed to how to manipulate the effects
you desire.

The sample mp3 I made was going from bypass to effect. Granted,
you need to be more experienced in what you are trying to achieve
to make it work.

Sounds more like you need to familiarize yourself with the Philtre
than a manufacters defect.

I don't remember Stanton ever selling a filter for $400.00

I remember one that was silver, and rackmountable. I would
suggest you download the manual of both the Alesis and,
Stanton, and compare the two.

I remember researching the Stanton a few years ago, and
can't say it offered more than the Alesis.

The edge I would say the Stanton has over the Alesis is
rackmountable. But, again. You should download both manuals
and read both from front to back.

There are plenty of discontinued filters that are sold at
a higher priced discontinued, than they were in production.

The Filter Queen falls into such a catergory.

Yeah. I believe that's the one.

It never cost $400.00 new. I would say $200.00 tops, and,
you could've found it cheaper. I would need to search in
my old DJ gear Magazines to confirm.

Somebody's trying to rip you off dude. There is no way
it went for $400.00 new.
