I saw it about two days ago, interesting themes but the movie seemed boring and I dunno there didn't seem to be any storyline. the trailer makes it seem awesome but, I would see the movie if I had nothing else to do.

Don't count out all the various topics and themes that are brought up in the movie. That's part of the reason why it's so good.

Also, there is a storyline, albeit a small one.

And I've seen some independent films that have used this type of animation. I hate independent films....

WTF?

Some of the best movies ever have been independent films...

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Memento
A Requiem for a Dream
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
The Usual Suspects
The Professional (Leon)
American History X
Se7en

Shall I go on?

You resurrected this thread in order to highlight those movies!

Methinks the scanner to peer behind Oz's curtain has been mislead

I suspect that Mr. Summer's lack of appreciation for independent cinema is that the stories don't come with a built in map, and as a result some people find themselves lost in them.

Like you sit down in front of Spiderman and within 5 minutes you know who the bad guy is, who the love interest is, and you can pretty much plot out the next 90 minutes without any effort.

While independent movies are less about the linear movement of the plot from initial conflict to final resolution. They tend to dump a number of different puzzle pieces into your lap, and its your job to reconstruct what the finale image looks like.

It did. It was a similar technique, as it was from the same director. It's been very much in tune with the ambiance of the film, though, and the plot-line, overall, in both cases.

Oh really?? Sweet! Thanks for the info.

I loved waking life. It was very much in tune with my thoughts and beliefs at the time I saw it...except I thought the dialogue was too wordy and pretentious.
