That's awesome man. Lefties who throw hard are always sought after. I'm right and topped out at 83-85 mph when i was 17. I haven't really played much in the past couple of years but I'd like to get back into it.

I was considering coaching LOL! We can't "get back into it" technically, BUT! there is always softball sunday's which ultimately means drink beers and play softball with a bunch of beergut hangin old timers.

Question, do you guys think its worth it for me to tryout for my schools baseball team? I got 1 year left of college and I want to do something active - I have a good arm, but I definitely cant pitch (not enough experience) and I have never faced actual pitchers... oh yea, did I mention, my school is Div. 1.
I figure, if I can throw a football @50-55 yards, I can throw a baseball from the outfield to a catcher.

If you've never played organized baseball, no.

co-sign
you can give it a run to test your athleticism but theres a good chance you'll make yourself look bad. granted the basic fundamentals are easy to pick up, just the strategy and knowing the game is something hard to execute when there are bang-bang plays. meaning you already knew what you was going to do before you did it (advancing bases, hypothetical situations, knowing what the opponent is going to do). it's an organized mental strategy where you know your teammates abilities and how to take advantage of the other team. i say go for it, but don't be surprised if people laugh at your under their breathe or behind your back...i say it'll be a good way to get a good feel for the game...that is if you can ignore those other players....

I dont care about the other players, I want to do it for myself. Ive played in organized football leagues and I did apply for Miami but I got rejected because of my grades. LIU does have a football program, but its on another campus which is Div. 2 and I applied to play Safety, but they said I couldnt transfer from a Div. 1 campus to a Div. 2 campus - which sucks donkey anus!

You know what I find the most interesting thing about baseball, when drafting rookies you never go to the actual team. I think its the only sport in the world that has such a depth of farm teams. Its amazing to think how hard a sport could be if it takes some people almost a decade to get out of the farm leagues - particularly pitchers.
