my dad and i (when i'm home from school) are in the process of restoring a '65 mustang fastback. we've got 3 5.4L blocks in the garage (one for the 65, one for our 94 t-bird and eventually, one for my '04 mustang gt). the fastback is gonna be twin-turbo'd.. : D dad's estimating 650 to 700 horsies.

I really want to get a 1950s German Military Unimog and fix that beast up!

Taken me the better part of 5 years to get it in this shape. Started off as a complete rust bucket. Quarter panels were shot. Some genius welded stop signs as floor pans in the inside. When you opened the trunk you saw the gas tank and the tires. The only reason I bought it was because it was a matching #'s 69 R/T with a Hemi.

I'd say I'm about 90% complete. All that's basically left is to re-do the electrical system, tighten up the interior, and install some upgraded suspension components.

It's been quite a costly venture, filled with many sleepless nights. Taken on a resto is not for the faint of heart, it will test your desire. and there have been times when I was ready to give up. But it's been my dream car since a little show called the Dukes of Hazzard, and it's a piece of undeniable American car history.

you would totally smoke my 55. i have the original 265 in there. its pretty cool though. its the first v8 ever made by chevy and it was designed for the 1954 corvette. back in the day it was TOPS. but ya, my car is a total cruiser although it does pick up speed rather nicely

I'd do it. Stock hemi has 425 horse, 475lb/ft torque. So you're in Mexico? I live in Boston. Meet halfway? Say Little Rock, AR?
