Your first mistake was trying to join a frat. Your second one was going to a frat party.

Now he's upset that he's not accepted by them?

1. make up your fucking mind
2. don't criticize what's important to your friends, either explicitly or implicitly.

This should teach you to look into things a bit more, and think about the situation that your next action is going create two and three actions down the line. It's called "forward thinking", and will help you to avoid many stupid mistakes.

Ok yea, next time someone offers you a once in a lifetime opportunity and gives you less than 24hours to decide, PM me so i can tell you that you made the wrong decision. Besides you being a dick there, I DID NOT insult them, i made a point of being very polite to them about everything, even when i was drunk! Furthurmore all i did was accept a bid. a BID, not brotherhood! all that means is that i agreed to get to know them better and decide. I did, and they didnt appreciate that, well thats false, only the upperclassmen and one bitch-frosh are holding grudges, EVERONE else i know in the frat is cool with me.

They're mad because you rejected their fraternity. Yet you still want to hang out and party with them. It doesn't work that way. You accepted the bid then basically said with your actions, I don't want to be a part of this. My understanding is that, with fraternities, you're either in, out, or a chick.

You certainly had exposure to what fraternities are before college, so to say it was a snap deicision is unfair. If I remember right, to get bids, you have to go to an organized grouping to "apply" so to speak, which is how you earned your bid...so you took the first step by actively searching that out. Even if you didn't do this, you still said yes; how much of the 24 hours did you use to think about it?

Realistically, there are probably some people in the frat that youll remain friends with, but don't expect them to do so, especially if they are impressionable as many fraternity brothers I know are. The exclusivity of fraternities is part of their draw. Since the fraternity isn't something you like to do, I suggest finding something you do like to and associating with those people; this will help maximize the college experience

my only frat exp. before college was my brothers frat. and even though it was cool, i still didnt want to join one until this semester, and even then i was on the fence. I didnt go through the whole process of being courted. BC i was friends with a few of them they took me out to dinner on a friday, unofficially told me i was getting a bid. the next day there was the ceremony thing where i accepted. literally less than 24hours.

I know, Im not really trying to fault you because you didn't go through it all. Just understand that your friends will do this thing, and if you want to hang out with them, you're either going to have to join or hang out with them when theyre not doing their frat thing. Depending on how involved they are will make it harder or easier. Stillcan't believe you didnt know what frats were like via tv, movies, books, conversation, etc.

Just get involved in something you like since frat life isn't your thing.

*implicity insulted them, as in bruised their ego. remember, they make the rules, which sucks either way. but even if you didn't accept the bid, being a good friend of some of the guys, you'd still be an outsider at parties and such.

They pretty much left that up to me, as long as I wasn't punter or center.

There's different styles/clicks in different frats. If you don't fit their mold, they'll reject you.

I joined a frat on the premise that there would always be food in the kitchen. I was right. Besides, it was cheap rent: $333 a month! $400 for the entire summer.
