So let's say a track changes key @ verse 2.
Not very common,I know, but there are some tracks that shift gear halfway thru.
How would the software analize such a track?

I thought it would be a good idea to analyze the Beginning, Middle and End of each song. This way, if the song changes key, Mixed In Key can detect the key change. This happens in Underworld - Dark and Long (Danny Howells mix) for example. Mixed In Key already supports this functionality, but we couldn't find a good way to display these results in Browse Collection. We currently have a very clean interface and we would like to keep it that way. Once we get more feedback from our current users, we will implement this feature 100%.

Thanks,
Yakov

Hey all,

There have been over 400 downloads of the trial version so far. We have gathered some great feedback and got new ideas for the next version. Both the trial version and the retail version will be updated sometime in the next week. So far, the most requested feature was saving key information into ID3 tags, as well as renaming .WAV and .MP3 files. If you have more feedback, please post it here.

Thanks,
Yakov

Knowledge is not one of your qualities. Respect isn't eighter.
The fact that you felt the need to flame somebody for not having hi-speed internet
reflects that very clearly.

In your boring little life, in fear of rejection, you would never dare to be so rude.
You would have to pretend.
On the internet on the other hand, you can be shallow, rude and disguisting. You can be YOU! ''Djfreaq'' . A pig. A twat. An animal.

But please try...just try to realize that there are people around the world who are not in your ''super-privileged'' position of having access to hi-speed internet.
Hell you might even feel ''superior'' and forget, for a moment, how empty and mediocre your shitty little life is...

In some counries, miiiiiles away from your computer screen, this luxury is not always standard issue.
This apparently is far too complicated a scenario for your shallow, closed-minded, little head to consider....

What, you were a baby 6 years ago? No wonder your posts are as high quality as they are.

hi,

please don't pretend like you've invented the circle of fifths. this diagram appears in pretty much every book on western music theory offered to fifth grade music.

I do think it's nice that you're promoting harmonic mixing.

anyone who wants to learn how to mix harmonically, I would advise you to actually learn a bit of music theory.

when you mix harmonically, you have to also worry about accidentals and things that might be in the bassline or a repetitive melody which might completely ruin any chance of a nice sounding mix if you mix simply in the same key or at fifth intervals.

there are other ways to mix harmonically besides simply mixing in the same key, or in intervals of fifths. (though this is the best way for smooth mixing)

I think you learn something by actually learning how to listen to music and key tracks by yourself. One of the obvious yet important things is developing a musical ear which will make you a better DJ and producer over all. And you'll start to develop favorite keys and progressions, etc.

Can you please analize this a bit further?

Well, I bit the bullet and bought it - don't have very good musical ear anyway.

So far, it ROCKS! some people might be right about program not being ideal, but hey, I'm much better at choosing tracks than before.
Totally worth the 60$.

Few problems are - we need key in MP3 comment field and probably better organizing in the software (would be cool to add "scan to new library" button or something.

Good job, Mixed In Key team!!
