i think its pathetic that people need to take drugs to enjoy trance. this means that they dont actually like the music and need to be off their tits to have a good time. i love dance music and clubbing and never take drugs (i have tried e, but it didnt make me have a better time), i listen to it at any time of day and dont need drugs to 'enhance my experience'. i hate the stereotype that you have to be a pill head to like trance, this gives the genre and the scence a bad name and reputation.

I enjoy my trance, and i've enjoyed my ex kicks just as much. Both together and both separately. Don't tell me/us we NEED ..... to enjoy
our lives and music. Thanks.

Wonder if it anything to do with him pushing for that number 1 spot hmmmmm..... lol trying win some fans over i think

why would that win any more fans over

If you saw people in a drug rehab clinic and they said not to use drugs because it ruined their life would you call them hipocrites?

Anyway I never really saw paul strait up say drugs are bad. He just says that they are not needed to enjoy music or what he thinks is the main reason to use drugs, escape reality.

Do you expect him to go around saying drugs are good, go doo drugs? Some DJs like sasha just say its a touchy subject and that he doesn't want to talk about it, but he isn't as politically involved as paul is, who tries to do a good amount of charity/fund rasing.

Take everything in moderation I say.
Tabacco and Alcohol are the only legalised substances but they cause more problems than any other drug that I know of. And I reckon that it's down to abuse of that substance.
So legal or illegal, they're all harmful but in moderation they can be safe and fun.

You'll never get a real answer outa Dj's regarding drugs because they have to protray role models for their younger fans. If they went around saying that they pop 12 pills a night and wash em down with PCP and a few lines of coke their diarys would clear up almost instantly.

I remember someone asking Tiesto this question a few years back ( pre-adagio) and he said he couldn't answer it and hated being asked stupid questions. He's hardly gonna admit being a recreational junkie now is he????

Chances are - the scene being what it is - that most if not all have been exposed to and have indulged in the drug scene that the genre is famous for. Why would anyone risk the dj's reputation by asking them is beyond me - in fact its just rude tbh.

And as for asking them what they think about the people that take drugs at their gigs - a dj is hardly gonna bit the hand of the crowd that pays him is he?? The dj that proclaims " I hope no pillhead ever comes to one of my gigs again" is gonna have a pretty quiet gig on his hands.

Don't need drugs to enjoy trance in any way, it's captivation enough I find. Though it is pretty trippy when you're stoned

Not exactly a DJ or an anti-drugs quote, but Daft Punk have said that they don't enjoy doing E and don't think it's important to enjoy the music. I can't remember the exact wording, but it basically amounted to them wanting music that sounded great even without chemical assistance.
