I mean, I dont want him trying to imitate another person's sound, because he kinda did follow his own path, but I just dont like his choice of aesthetic, nor the type of crowd that is attracted to it. The people at these winkly prog parties are overwhelmingly the type that overobsess with vanity, pay too much attention to money anf status symbols, and they talk like fucking puff daddy. The kind of kids who would buy an ipod because of fashion instead of because they can listen to music withy it.

The twinkling isnt very hearty I find, it seems more like commodity noise than it does some really personal heartfelt idea put into melody. Then again, how the hell do I know? I really don't so I dont get too aggresive in my judgement, I just call it twinkle prog and that is as far as I go. His style is not to my taste, when I hear it I picture some posh club full of snobs sitting on leather couches and waiting in line for drink specials, the kind of style I prefer gives a much different picture, sweaty flailing bodies, strange goo covering the floor, people dressed in loose pants and tank tops, not in job interview clothes, but clothes meant for vigorous dancing.

I just feel there is too much vanity and status symbol surrounding markus shulz and his work. I feel like his twinkling is simply a means to make dirty pumping prog music acceptable to the pop crowd. It is a sort of evil synergy in my eyes, prog was kinda slow and brooding, but bassy and dirty, and together those made for a neat crowd of perverts who liked this kinda sex beat music. The trance kids on the other hand were happy out their minds and flailed like lunatics. But you try and mash the two and it doesnt fly, trance's high energy kept people from getting too vain and faddy, because that behavior was not practical for such vigorous dancing, you slow the dancing down but keep the sily trance melody and what do you get? Brooding and vanity, people sitting on couches and looking pretty, and it sucks, that shit just isnt fun for me at all, so you guys can take your markus shilz and your twinkles and your drink specials, I would much rather be sweeating and screaming to poppy energetic trance than walking around pretending im cooler than everybody else to some brooding poppy probg.

i'd call it watered down prog trance. Its the sort of thing i'd listen to on an MP3 player but im not keen on it live, not really 'dancable', in my opinion anyway, not heard many of his sets, mainly just the global dj broadcast, never heard a live set, cold be different??

Markus plays differently when hes at a gig. He plays more of the harder clubby type of tracks, When you listen to his radio show, The tracks he plays is more softer and easier to listen to since you be at home hearing the show all the time, But when you see him at a big event, Expect him to play big room type of tracks. I'm sure most of you had the priviledge of seeing him at Club Space and then at BED durring WMC 2006.

Why do you thank him? Your not Marcus..or at least hope not too .

I think Marcus is like a boring Armin in my opinion. They almost share the same tracklists, so I dont see why everyone makes him a legend. He really doesnt have any great productions either. So I dont get it why many people charish him.
