I've got a little red Siamese fighting fish calle Tong Po (the bad guy from the movie Kickboxer). He lives in a big square vase with black pebbles at the bottom. He's not as active as he was in the Summer, now he mainly sits on the pebbles at the bottom and only get exited when someone comes into the room or he needs to surface for air or food. He doesn;t make a bubble nest anymore either.. hope he isn't sick . If I hold food in my fingers just above the water he jumps up and grabs it which is pretty cool .

ohhhhh yeah a cichlid - that's what it was! guy was only about 1.5-2" in length, and not fiesty at all.

the bigger the aquarium, the easier it is to maintain, because issues that develop usually subside in a short time if you upkeep the aquatic environment, because there is so much healthy water to swallow up any maladies.

i did about a 1/4 water change every two weeks, and my pimp algae-eater did a great job of keeping the walls clean. i vaccummed about 2 out of every 3 water changes.
