i dont think they afford to keep both chara and redden. as for alfs, wtf was he thinking. maybe he was like "oh dom will stop it no worries all i gotta do is skate back up to the bench now"

He's never been known for his defense anyways, but i think they'll get some goods for Chara. I'd keep Redden though.

IMO, Ottawa was blessed with being confident with their goalie always getting the job done. Emery, however, was always confident that his guys would put up numbers. Neither really happened, and it bit them.

Ottawa's "blue line welcome" defense was pretty clever, and worked a bit. We really couldn't get anythign setup on the power play, and Ottawa's power plays had a shitload of attack time. We just made the most of our odd-man rushes, and beat Emery like clockwork on lateral movements.

what I dont get is how you can put such a prolific team together for a SC run and rely on an injury prone 40 yr old in net. complete retardedness.

they should've given emery like 50 or 60 regular season starts and rested hasek. that way a. emery would've been better and b. hasek might not have gotten injured. who cares about the 1st place finish if your sole netminder is hurt.
