Nintendo's last surprise should be PRETTY big if they want to make this E3 theirs.

Not quite. They said that there's no standalone sensor. Seems like Nintendo will have one.

LOOOOOL. Comment from Joystiq:

"Can I just say it? Sony, listen. The dualshock is terrible. It was never a good idea. Just because it looks symmetrical does not mean it is a good design.

Now... Sony? SONY! You look at me, young man. Don't you roll your eyes at me! It's 2006! You haven't changed your fucking controller in over a decade! Those buttons with analog sensitivity on the PS2? Nobody used those. Ever. The people who say they used those? Liars, all of them. It doesn't look good for these motion sensors, either.

GIVE ME THE BOOMERANG, SONY. IT'S BETTER THAN THE LOG OF SHIT YOU'VE HAD HANGING FROM YOUR ASS FOR THE PAST TWELVE YEARS. Now go to your room! No! No dinner for you, little man! Go!"

With the two different price ranges for the PS3, It apears that the consumers are going to be completely screwed if they purchase the 499.99 system with the 20gig harddrive, Acording to this PDF file being hosted by www.scei.co.jp.

The $499.99 20gig PS3 will not have the following.
No HDMI port (means no HD quality at 1080p)
No Memory card ports
No built in WiFi

Wow. Talk about suck.

HOWEVER!

1) Not everyone will have an HDTV that'll support 1080p.
2) Hard Drive is all some will need to save files.
3) Some people prefer a wired connection over WiFi.

Apparently Sony is also going to REMOVE the rumble in the controller for both packs, because it somehow interferes with the motion sensing thingamajingy.

quote:
Pursuant to the introduction of this new six-axis sensing system, the vibration
feature that is currently available on DUALSHOCK® and DUALSHOCK®2 controllers for
PlayStation and PlayStation®2, will be removed from the new PS3 controller as vibration itself interferes with information detected by the sensor.

I feel these negative news kinda overshadows Nintendos renaming of the Wii..

Thats cause Sony lost the patent case that was against them regarding the dualshock controller's rumble.

Same here. I was bored out of my mind for the first 50 minutes while being drowned with nothing but fancy graphics. Then the price point totally got to me (even though I predicted it, to the dot, along with their decision to release 2 packages) and if that wasn't bad enough... their "surprise" left me with a horrible aftertaste in my mouth.

Boo on you, Sony.

Some of these Joystiq comments are hilarious:

quote:
Watch out for hidden Sony ninja's hiding in the back waiting to steal more ideas from Nintendo and incorporate it last minute into the PS3 super 600 edition.

quote:
I hope Iwata comes out with a boomerang style Wii controller as a joke.

quote:
All I have to say is, time for Sony's half-baked scheme to be put to shame.
