the first time i saw digweed in a club was in 97, and ive seen him every year since...other than the odd tech house track, ive havent seen a tech house set from him live.
I like digweed, but just saying he is a tech house dj is very wrong.
im willing to bet at that time you were still listening to ace of base
I've never listened to Ace Of Base, I think in 97 I was still into Smashing Pumpkins.
I just saw Digweed last Thursday and most of what he was playing was tech house or similar...but I agree that you cant say hes just a tech house DJ since he drops a variety of stuff in his sets...

Ace of Bass were like the Swedish House Mafia of Swedish pop. All their songs sounded the same, but at least with them you could respect that because they had those horrible rap sessions that came out of nowhere.

Do i enjoy everything Frankie Knuckles spins...no, but i have to say he is the dj i most respect and idolize.Without people like Jefferson,Tenaglia,Knuckles...the edm side of things would be quite different today
Yep totally agree. And thats not what i meant actually
People saying they like the digweed of 10 years back more than now is fair enough and im not talking about those people. My point was to some people around here who seem to hate almost every new thing that comes out and keep refering to the past. There must be SOMETHING good this present day
I hope my point is clearer now

i misunderstood..my bad.
sasha and digweed 10 years ago were much more innovating IMO, but then again edm as a whole has become much bigger with easier access to the internet. With so many new artists and producers coming out each day, it becomes harder and harder to distance yourself from the pack in terms of innovativness.
people start searching for something different, which might account for the sudden resurgence of minimal and electro clash. When people get tired, back to prog...ect ect.Trance will have a resurgance in a few years too IMO...as soon as the productions vary more and become less cookie cutter/formulaic.
Sasha dropped this skud missle on many unsuspecting clubers last weekend @ Crobar
