Hi,
the idea is cool however there's a big probability that you will be misunderstood by many people and it wouldn't feel good at all..

Besides, there are some things(lets call them concepts) that come with this electronic music thing such as alcohol, smoking ect. For me those do not matter at all, I'm only for the music but guess what? There are certainly some people out there who relate such concepts so closely in their minds to "electronic dance music" so from their point of view you will have done something agaist religion.

If I were you:
I would do the church trance thing, but not in a church.. (well I'm not so sure)

i think im starting to agree. the reason that i created this post was to help me try to decide what the best coarse of action would be and i keep hearing the same thing in one regard. and thats to have it outside of a church setting. at least as a start. and i hear you big time on the being misunderstood thing too. ive already experienced that first hand on several occasions. but i really don’t let it discourage me. i know what i feel needs to be done so...ill try to do it as best as i can.

thanks for the feedback

Do you have any experience promoting? The first step is to get some large place backing you, such as a city school with a large campus. Once you gain a key part of a town, you gain others' trust, both teens and adults. The second, is to get every church involved, to make it the "cool" place to go to. Once you get the church kids going, they will bring their friends, and you'll have a great Christian bash going on in a local environment. In my city we had this go on a couple of years ago, and everybody came. To build on this, usually you'll have to get some carnival stuff, such as a rock wall or blow up stuff. If it becomes mainstream, make sure you have the talent to put on a good show. It sounds impossible, but trust me, it can be done, and it has been done.

Sound advice. Actually i have a lot of experience promoting. like 10 years almost. Only thing is that it has been in a club / warehouse type setting mostly and the parties I threw back in a day could never be associated with church! )-: but all of your suggestions are good. most of which i have done. i have the support of about 2 or 3 churches at this time as well as a few dozen kids. but that’s bout it. oh actually there are some very old school djs in the city (Detroit) that support what im doing as well. regardless of their religious views. i was given a free vendor space at the Detroit electronic music festival this year for my company to sell my cds and t-shirts because of one of these djs. i sold 50 copies of my cds at 10 bucks a pop and about a dozen shirts. ive already gotten 1/2 dozen emails back from kids that bought my cds asking where they can buy more and when am i coming out with some new stuff. and right now Digitally Imported is reviewing my latest cd and I'm pretty sure it's gonna get played in the Trance channel...I hope (-:
