Djs are not defined by genre... If you have a look inside their crate ( in otherwords look at their tracklists over 10 to 15 years ) you will find they have played / produced a shitload of genres including Trance... In fact it wasn't uncommon to hear DJs mix a variety of tracks of a diverse range of genres in one set.

That does not make them a Trance DJ nor does that make them strictly a Prog DJ... they play whatever sounds good at the time

... Or case in point... 2 entirely different things, no?

Look, I stand corrected about my comments about you and EDM, but I do believe (without meaning to sound like Mother Teresa) That its better to ignore the ignorant than to froth at the mouth. S + D are Djs... what they play, (prog or trance) isn't really reason to get antagonised into a debate.

...and that IMO was when dj-ing was REALLY dj-ing, not the automated vomit the big guns spew these days...

I listen to trance/prog/goa/house/eurodance and in all honesty the lines between the different genres of electronic music are VERY ill-defined. I mean, calling a song by la bouche trance is one thing, but I don't get pissed at people confusing prog and trance, I mean hell I can't even tell the difference sometimes. And have you ever tried actually explaining the subtle differences to people who don't listen to techno? Do it, I dare you. Then you'll start realizing how narrow those lines are between genres. It's cool to have all these definitions, but don't get bogged down by subgenres and forget that it's all still music one way or another.

They played trance before, they played progressive trance before, then house, techno (yup) and so many other genres that I do not have time to list them. Sasha and Digweed have pretty much played everything and to me, they are simply EDM deejays not progressive house. Digweed is playing weak electro and bad tech house these days not as much prog house and last I heard Sasha was playing breaks + electro and a ton of other things.

my point is simply this - who cares what genre they play?
