There's so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin. So you associate "old skool" with "acid". Acid what? Acid house? Or just anything with a TB 303 in? And you also don't think that any of the acid genres had electronic elements in? What the fuck?
And then the label "trance" is much older than 1993. It was originally applied to repetitive, hypnotic, four on the floor music by The KLF in their Pure Trance series, beginning in 1988. Then when the Germans started making trance in full force in 1990 they adopted the tag for what was essentially the same as what The KLF had done but also drew on German techno. There are plenty of examples of "trance" applied as a genre prior to 1993.
Of course, that could just be an opinion. Or it could be fact.
