Another thing about progressive- the bassline is VERY important. Sure it's important in trance too, but there's just so much more to look forward to in trance.. you know, syths, vocals and all. In prog, when the basslines sound pathetic, then the prog track would have failed miserably.
Having said that, I still think prog rules. Together with trance, of course.

Prog not being Trance really confuses me....that means that Progressive doesnt really fit it in on this board then since its Tranceaddict
And then most record companies are wrong when they say that certain trax are Progressive trance?

Is Conjure One - Redemption Progressive?
Thats what Swamper had written when i DLed a while back..i always thought it was and i kinda like it....

A similar occurance beat , repeating over and over again , with a gradual change of beat ?

there is progressive trance...but its not the genre of progressive ..... so if its progressive trance tune its still trance ....kinda like max graham stuff...or james holden stuff thats a good example...its no progressive the genre but its progressive trance which is trance.... Progressive is a genre . progressive trance is just a sub genre of trance...its more related still to trance then it is progressive ....i hope that makes sense

Swamper also had dirty-dirty which is chicago house!

well put it this way trance is the gateway to the progressive scene. If it wasnt for trance i wouldnt know anything about Progressive. I would thank tranceaddicts. But i mean no offense Trance is getting a little cheesy for me now. It seems all the same. Dont get me wrong i still love trance. But for me the mature thing to do is listen to progressive. and Sasha being trance is a no no. I love him and diggers style of Deep progressive house. If you want to listen to some tribal stuff i would recommend Steve Lawyler hes the BEST!

Another thing about the Progressive is that DJ's always play everything new. They hardly play the same sets. Unlike trance djs for example Tiesto. He plays the same stuff over and over again. I mean play some new tracks u know. its different with progressive. the more you listen to progressive the more you would appericate the genre. I had some great help from many TA's.

And yes its aquired taste. but once you aquired that taste your will never go back! right now i am pretty new to the scene. I am going to start spinning progressive soon. I mean it doesnt hurt to check it out but dont diss the progressive scene!

isn't dawnseekers - protuberance an example of progressive trance. I say its a flowing melody through the entire song and not just part of it like a normal trance song.

What I like to believe is progressive is DJ Remy.
Nice flowing beats and melodys. But not the more soft-like style of Lucien Foort. Remy knows how to kick it, I love his style and his sound. He doesn't use the standart beat, he has this extra sound to it.

I've put a sample online of what I think is progressive. Since I like the hard version of every kind of house, this is also a little hard-progressive (I believe).

http://honingerdijk.cjb.net/remy.mp3 (it's MP3Pro to save space and keep some quality, 2 bad the complete dub is lost and the original is of poor quality )

PS Any Remy fans out there who I can Xchange Remy Livesets with?
