The problem with going waaaay back is that the sound of yesteryears does not mesh well with the current sound, so a dj would have to dedicate half hour to an hour for classics and that's just wishful thinking.

Eh not really...there are songs made 10 years ago that sound like they were made today, you just have to find em. And a little work in soundforge can beef em up.

Agreed!!! 20 minutes can pump up the bass, clear up the highs, and define the mids. People are just lazy....

i would disagree. they all sound the same is more like it. trance especially. you have heard all these "classics" a million time because those are the ones that have been hammered until death.

what about the ones that have been forgotten but were still made some time ago?

classics are inspiration to a massive part of dj'ing and producing today, they could only wish they could bring a crowd to their knees like when their favorite dj did to them sometime in the 90's era
