Fair enough but I don't do that in every thread you see and I participate a lot more in the DJ Booth so there's no need for me to get into that. I put it in a rambled form in order to go over my point so no one turns it the other way. I've had plenty of people on here twist my words or what i'm trying to say, and just give me a hard time about stuff. Yes I do feel over-awed about that, because it is what I look for in music, emotion, and I am one who is drawn to that style of electronic music or music period, doesn't have to be trance, house, prog, whatever it is...

I feel the same about really good R&B or Soul, Jazz, Alternative, Singer-Songwriter/Folk, some Classical or Romantic, some New Age, some Pop and some Rock. I don't talk about in every thread that tracks have a spiritual feel, but when it is brought up in a thread, something about the way tracks feel or are, I do mention it. So it's not as often as you think and I have toned it down considerably, so give me some credit. I guess you can say i'm someone whose more intuned with their emotions, hence i'm studying to be a psychologist...and emotions play a big role in that field (esp empathy) and it's one of the most important things in the field of psychology i'm getting into (humanistic and transpersonal). And this music is going to play a role in my career in the future (it's a long story).

Haha and another thing....I wouldn't have called my username "Spirit" if it didn't mean anything to me, and it does. I think it would be more pretenious if I was going into great detail about it's spiritual qualities (I usually just state it is, thats it) and or say it helps me pray or speak to god and quite frankly it doesn't and I don't use it that way or am implying it does by the term "spiritual". I think it's just another way of saying it's heavenly or ethereal and I use those terms too.

Im not though am i. You talk more Jibba Jabba than half this messageboard put together. You wont use your ears to even understand what im on about because of your Faux elitist attitude. you have been on a high horse ever since someone mentioned your name in the "top 100 DJ mag poll thread".

Denying "Electro House" the influence of electro is like saying Techno wasn't influenced by Industrial. Tell me you cant hear Throbbing Gristles 'Adrenaline' or any skinny puppy in any of the techno tunes of the past 25 years.

Oh, and before you say your classic line of "who are you?", Fuck off.

And these are specific to electro how?

Listen to the Prydz remix of Switch - A Bit Patchy and then listen to some New Order.

Listen to Paolo Mojo - 1983 then listen to some Visage.

Both tracks have the same air about them.

I always perceived Visage and say, Blue Monday as synthpop, but regardless of that, the same "air about them" isn't an objective trait of a tune, it's a subjective perception, and it isn't going to do you any good in a constructive debate. Be more specific. I fail to see how that remix of Switch has anything to do with electro other than the infamous buzzing bassline, if that at all.

And regardless of all this, I fail to see how this warrants to create a whole new genre offshoot. If "electro house" is supposed to be a valid genre, it has to be proven that it is an evolution from what previously was electro. A house record with electro influences is just a house record with electro influences. A house record with a 303 bassline is not necessarily an acid house tune, nor is Djinxx - Black a detroit techno tune, despite its very familiar detroit synthpatterns. Your argument is far too vague.

Oh, and Mikey has always been a sarcastic bastard. If you think the DJ Mag issue has changed this somehow, you are clearly deluding yourself.

Well, Tijs is doing something different. Thats why we have this thread.

The problem is Tiestos current tracks are nothing special. They are like one time listeners. .....imo

Changing to tech-trance or whatever is not making things any different.

ahhhh, i miss 02 and 03.

Just because he plays 1-2 house tracks in a set means hes moving away from trance ?

How does that explain that 98% of shit he plays is trance ?
