Life is under our contol... not god, not fate, not karma or anyother BS that humans can come up with to help control society.

Many people here say they believe in karma just because it has effected them before. That's probably because you altered your preception of reality to fit this random theory. You choose to recognize, acknowledge, and connect separate events in your life, which have no relation to one another.

"Karma" is just away to get people to act civilized and treat others the way they'd like to be treated... any they inforce this with the threat of an unknown and unexplained "force." People are afraid on what they don't understand.

Karma is the adult equivalent of the boogie monster.

Love how the people who don't agree automatically call others' beliefs "BS" and what not.

You believe in what you believe or don't believe in your case. No need to throw words like that around (not to mention the fact that if I was Hindu I would be seriously offended).

So what if some people believe in karma? What's the big deal? If it makes people nicer then cool, makes the world a hell of a nicer place. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with that.

Well, I've spent too much time asking 'why' to significant events in my life, and still wondering if there is some invicible supernatural force fucking with me. So far, my logical brain tells that there is no such thing as 'luck' or 'fate' or 'karma', but my heart wonders...

It is comforting to know that there is a reward for positive behaviour and actions, because you know, or at least believe that you'll get something positive back in the future.

But, as some posters have wondered, does a positive action now have direct or even indirect corelation with positive actions occuring to you in the future?

So hard to tell.

For me, I'll stick to what God says and I have some sort of 'free will'. I hate to think that others are in control of what I'm suppose to be doing. It's my life dammit! I can be as good or evil as I want.

What's so hard to believe about getting lucky once in a while?

Because I don't like random occurances. I like my world orderly, meaning for example, if I punch someone in the face, most likely I'd get reactions like a punch back, or the guy crying, or his buddies jumping me. Not stuff like a fat girl jumping on me and making mad love to me which is as random as fuck.

Predictability may be boring, but at least you know what's coming...

I'm confused. What does you punching someone have to do with you getting blackjack at the casino 3 times in a row?

I was commenting at randomness in general, ie luck, chance, karma, whatever.

i think its a nice idea..makes for cute romance movies

but i agree with mj2. life is under your control. and also the control of the people around you

loca. i understand ones religious beliefs are a touchy subject, but if you can't listen to and defend them, then maybe you shouldn't believe them. i think a lot of beliefs are stupid, and i will tell you so. its your duty as a believer to defend it. asking them to just not talk about it shows lack of strength in ones own beliefs. if anything talking about other peoples thoughts on your own beliefs will make you understand your own better, and value them more

I don't think you understood my point. What i was saying was that i can understand if you don't believe in the same thing as I do. What i think is ridiculous is calling it "bullshit" or anything else. There is no need to insult a belief when you want to disagree with it.
