I have met many open minded, free thinking, great, intelligent, caring people in the rave/EDM scene in SoCal. You just need to know how to look. |
I totally agree, when i started to go to Avalon about a year & half ago, i met cool people the very first nite i went. From that point on ive met nothing but the coolest of the cool. Each week meeting @ least 5 or so more
On a typical night when a high-line DJ is spinning (Lawler, Zabiela, Burridge, etc), i can honestly say i would run into at least 100 of my friends. We dont all roll in together, but all meet up around that one booth to the right of the dancefloor & have a hell of a time. Then the majority of us all go to the dancefloor. It's always a lot of fun!
that being said, i will also agree that the Avalon scene has changed (people wise) since the summer of 05. guys in general who go there to pick up, tweekers, & people who are there just on a whim (especially 1st time e-tards whose mission in life is to get w/every tranny that gives them a 2nd look) totally ruin the vibe!
ive had a great time everytime ive gone to Avalon, its a lot easier for me i guess since i know a lot of people & even tho i dont meet as many people as i used to, i still meet a few more every week
i have this saying "Cool people hang around w/cool people" & it may take a while but cool people will eventually find other cool people.
