tech :house: has so little elements. Trance has limitless elements. once you start layering more elements it slowly turns into trance. trance is the pinnacle.

The definition of trance doesn't have jack shit to do with the number of elements in a track, tech house doesn't necessarily have few elements, and having more elements doesn't necessarily make a track better neither.

Plus tastes are subjective.
