Hit them with chemicals?
Hardly think someone has the time too load up the right dosage for someones approximate size, weight, physical condition, illnesses and history of allergies... and damn, he's just stabbed me while I was doing it.
There isnt a 'one size fits all' with sedatives You mess it up, they stop breathing.
So, we can move onto peppersprays and teargases. Which are all fun and games in the open but in a confined environment you just end up gassing yourself most of the time and then its just all crying and tears. Plus like the sedatives, who knows if they will have any effect at all, some people just arent slowed down at all by them, especially if theyre on methamphetamines or psychotic and some others just have their throat close over and cant breath.
Stun guns, another mixed bag which I'd hardly call 'technically non-lethal' as a shot too the chest can stop the heart and lungs, like the sprays sometimes does nothing and people recover very quickly once the juice is off.
Beat them with a stick. Yeah well thats a solution, but more likely you'll either get hit or stabbed in the process, have the stick taken off you and beaten with it yourself or if that doesnt happen then your chances of doing some permanent damage too them from fractures, brain damage and mutilation. Hardly a solution if you just want someone too move out of a cell, I've seen first hand what riot control batons do too people and it's fairly ugly. They snap bones like chalk, sounds kind of like someone dropping a watermellon or snapping a green stick.
| quote: | | Well, cops with the proper training in combat/martial arts can easily do that, with out risking much at all. That should greatly reduce the number of cops required to do the job. Or you could have specialists for that job. You could also hire more cops. And I don't see how any of this would be impractical. It would only create more jobs. Plus, I think cops should have proper martial arts/combat training in general instead of being out of shape/fat fucks shoving donuts down their throats. |
Well, theres a gross generalisation.
So for both civil and gaol duties we have to find an employee's for the police services specialist ninja, athlete marksmen.
Then we're going too end up with no one to do the job, then no policing gets done because there isnt anyone who matches up to the qualifications, dont know about you but there is a distinct absence of martial arts specialists looking for work in the police service.
Finally, theyre just people doing a job the best they can with the training they get and in any field you'll find, its done too a budget which doesnt extend too making the average copper a martial arts and marksman expert in a matter of months. That and policing doesnt involve enforcing laws at the barrel of a gun or fist all the time, a lot of it just seems too be quite dull and routine really.
At the moment its socially acceptable too have pooch take the hits and deal out a few hits rather than the policeman, they're comparatively cheap to train, dont have pensions, sick days and heal up quickly if they do get hurt. Policemen dont, they have families too consider and probably dont want too risk their arse all the time on the job when it comes to dealing with someone violent if there is an easier solution like having someone bitten by a dog or the threat of being bitten by a dog.
They are a tool, sometimes tools get missused and abused just like anything else.
edit-
Computer games and violence, oh boy thats just one of the problems with society that simply looks for a scapegoat really rather than address the problem of its own idiots that dont have any self restraint, morals or responsibility.
