Oh fuck off. I'm sick of you imposing your "beliefs" onto MY thoughts and challenging what I say. That's what I said, that's what I meant. What I was getting at was that we like to give because it makes us feel good, if it didn't we probably wouldn't give gifts. Assuming I'm right that would mean we give gifts for our own satisfaction not to satisfy others.

I honestly give for the sake of giving. I like buying people nice things and don't really care about what they get me nor am I looking for them to like me better. If they like me for me that's great, if not at least I put a smile on their face with a nice gift.

I also tend not to concentrate too much on special occasions to get certain friends/S.O gifts. I think random acts make people more happy than when they are expecting to receive something.
