qualitatively: because i've heard him before and he is too bland to make such an impact on any poll. quantitatively: because i talk to a lot of people who are into house music on the weekends and of all the djs everyone talks about, dj dan has never been mentioned. ever. i've never encountered a dj dan fan and yet the united states is supposed to be his base of support??? statistically, i should have heard at least one person rave about him.
past years' ranking mean nothing. how do you know he or his team or his fans haven't been manipulating the poll for more than a year? you know to make a top 5 ranking believable, you have to have a progressive plan to get from #94 to #5. think in terms of if you set out to become the top house dj in this poll, how would you proceed?
