With all due respect, JOC's tracks are shit.

I fucking hate that slow offbeat bass, totally kills energy. And his tracks never seem to have anything in them.

That is my preference mind.

Alex M.O.R.P.H makes some crisp stuff.

Mark Sherry - Fractured (David Forbes Remix) Although check out the waveform of this tune, like a block of noise. Compressed to shit. Sounds clear though.

A lot of psy artists have clear sounds too. But I think this is down to the fact they use a lot of contrast. This helps them a great deal.

I know its a generalisation and maybe a slightly inaccurate one, but the kicks are in general squelchy/punchy and the bass are mid heavy. The abstract sounds too all help it sound crisper.

Tranc eon the other hand is all about being epic and room filling sound. Hard to do.

For Psy: Astral Projection - Chaos

For Trance: Darren Tate/Ronski Speed.

andy moor's production is certainly 'clear'.. however it takes more than just clarity for something to sound good. on a related note, some productions can sound great without being particularly clear. it's all about balancing warmth & clarity..

o'callaghan & kearny - exactly, springs to mind as being particularly crystal clear, although that doesn't necessarily mean i find it the best produced trance track out there

I think that some of John Askew's track's are pretty crisp and clear, one that really hits my mind is

John Askew-All or nothing

When you say crisp, the first thing that comes into my head is
Ricky Fobis - No Regular (M.I.K.E.'s Electro Shock Mix)
especially that part about 90 seconds in.

Again because he is basically exactly like JOC or Brian Kearny or whoever else on discover, its cause they hjave nothing in the track that could muddy it up. Kick and Bass alternate - No low end hassle.

Pretty simple perc - just hihat loops etc.

And just some plucky synth filling up the mid range.

Of course they are obviously doing something right to get all this attention, but for me its just slow and boring hard house.

Production on this is super duper. Brilliantly mastered, crystal clear and crisp sounding kick, and complimented superbly by some rather unusual 'high pitched' (but not in a shit way) synths.

Awesome track as well. (Progressive House.)

Also- Eelke Kleijn's "Enchanted" is truly crisp in sound.

Good, clear sounding tunes-

Lagoona- In My Dream (Kaveh Azizi Remix)
Kyamoto- Frosted
Yilmaz Altanhan- Eighties

how on earth can someone say that chicane's halcyon sounds clear? IMO it's one of the muddiest sounding chicane tracks, if not the muddiest.

i also don't understand how no one has said junkie xl yet. IMO his stuff sound very clear, especially his new stuff (i'm not too familiar with his old stuff)

ive been playing this a LOT!
love pretty much all of Eelke's work.

also agree with david west and matthew dekay.

M.I.K.E.'s productions sound amazing as well but need a big room to fully experience the soundstage well.
